30,000 miles.
Top end was freshened up with springs, seals and cam chain when installing adjustable cam gears as per Ivan's recommendation after full exhaust and R1 racing head gasket and air box mod. Walter (ECS Dyno) and myself did the valve shimming process twice to make sure they were dead on. Bottom line, the engine is perfect and makes a real 141rwhp on pump gas.

A partial list of the rest of the mods from front to back:
-Powder coated wheels
-Polished Caliper pistons
-Galfer lines and pads
-Full Muzzy exhaust, all the Ivan's goodies. (as you know I've installed quite a few of his kits)
-GPS (used mainly as speedo when running different gearing)
-Two windshields (low and medium)
-GYTR Ti bars w/Throttle meister CC and CRG mirror
-Custom painted (NOT due to accident)
-Gorilla Alarm
-Battery Tender
-Current oil...Royal Purple
-Current A/F...Engine Ice...pretty much since day 1

I've got front and rear K&L stands and some other spare parts I've picked up here and there with the intention of making this possibly a drag/track day only bike. But, as always things change and I'm looking to get an FJR or ST for longer range rides. (getting old..;) )

Cosmetically, the bike is a 9 with a few rock chips here and there but nothing drastic. You know I've ridden it like it was made to be ridden but have taken very good care of it all the time.

Copied from the Yamaha Web page...
"Derived from the legendary R1, the FZ1 packs a huge amount of horsepower and torque into a chassis that handles like a super bike yet is comfortable enough to ride all day long. For the rider who likes sport bike performance but prefers more comfortable ergonomics. The FZ1 offers a more traditional upright seating position, yet sacrifices nothing in terms of engine and handling performance.

The FZ1 is fitted with an engine based on the R1. With a different cylinder head than the R1, the compact 998cc liquid-cooled powerplant is fed by four side-draft 37mm carbs. The crankshaft, 10% heavier than the R1, has greater inertial mass, providing better around-town ridability. Handling the exhaust chores is a 4-into-1 system controlled by Yamaha's Exhaust Ultimate Powervalve (EXUP) that precisely matches the exhaust backpressure with engine RPM to create maximum power.

A perimeter-style steel tube frame mated to a box section aluminum swingarm adds up to incredible rigidity and confidence inspiring handling. Front and rear suspension is fully adjustable for preload, compression and rebound dampening to help fine tune the ride. Cycle World, May 2002 stated... "While it's impossible to please all of the people all of the time, the FZ1 manages to come remarkably close." Just like the R1, the FZ1 has set the standard for sporting street motorcycles. Providing uncompromised performance in a comfortable, all-around package."
